This past weekend, we all headed up to Grapevine Mills mall to do some shopping and to meet up with my best friend, Deanna. I haven't seen her in a few months and since we live a good hour away from each other now, Grapevine is a good halfway point for both of us. On the way there, I was just thinking about how it was exactly 7 years ago that we met and instantly became best friends. Time sure has flown by and it's crazy to think how much has changed in our lives since we met each other.
One thing that has changed was the fact that we didn't buy one thing for ourselves! We bought a ton of clothes but they were all for our baby boys. We did get some great deals since we were shopping at an outlet mall. I even bought lots of clothes for our boys for next winter since there were a ton of 2T for as cheap as $1 a shirt. (After I got home, I was looking at all the clothes I bought and separating them into piles of needing to be washed right away and storing them away from next winter. Then I glanced at one shirt, which was a Christmas shirt, and it said "I light up my dad's life" and I realized it was a girl's shirt! Opps....I guess that is what happens when your kids are hungry and you are trying to hurry and pick out what to buy before one of the boy's has a melt down. Hopefully I'll still be able to use it one day!)

After shopping at the mall for a few hours, we headed over to Fuddruckers (this is also where Daniel and I had our FIRST date)! I had Carter in a highchair right next to my chair. While we were eating, Carter wrapped his arm around mine and laid his head down on my shoulder. He did this several times while we were eating. Carter has always been my boy who loves to give hugs but he's never done this before and it was so sweet. After we got done eating, we went out to the car and I gave Deanna some big baby toys that our boys have grown out of (I figure I might as well let her borrow them then having them sit in our attic and risk them getting messed up from the heat until we need it again). I also gave her a ton of 12 month boy clothes. Her son, Mason, was born in August of this past year so all our clothes are the perfect season. After all the money that we spend on our boy's clothes, I'm just glad that we have friends and family that we can pass them down to.
We said our good-byes and then headed over to Ikea. We picked up three cute little kid chairs for our boys (and our future child), a few other items and then headed home.
These are the chairs we bought. We plan on making a new cover for them so that we can wash them when they get dirty and we can pick a cute fabric that they would like better than plain cream.

The perfect size for them.

I can see this becoming a favorite place to read a book.

It's funny because right now Talon wants everything that Carter has. If Carter decides that he doesn't want it anymore, then Talon decides he isn't interested in it anymore either. Carter was sitting in his chair and Talon wanted to also sit in the same chair even though there was an empty chair right next to Carters. Even though they are only 3 weeks apart in age, we've seen so many examples where Carter really is the big brother.
