Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Washington D.C. - Part 4

Tuesday -
Well today we decided that we wanted to go tour the Capital. It is free but because there are so many tourist, you have to get there in the morning and get a time. There were tons of kids there for a field trip so the earliest they had was 1:30. Daniel and I decided that we were go tour the Library of Congress first and then head back over to the Capital. I kind of wished we could of toured the Capital first because compared to the Library of Congress, the Capital wasn't near as pretty. The detail in the Library of Congress was amazing. I am definitely glad that Daniel talked me into going because at first I really didn't feel like visiting a library. But this library wasn't like anything I had ever seen before.
Next, we headed over to the Capital. Daniel and I had dropped off our backpack at the museum before because we had heard that you couldn't bring in bags. Well we found out that you can bring in bags, but you just had to throw away all liquids and food. So I'm really glad that we checked our bag b/c we had lots of snacks and a bottled water in our bag. We had to wear a headphone set to hear our tour guide which was kind of annoying because the wires were touching my sunburn the whole time. The coolest thing was that the tour guide disapeared across the room and started just talking in a normal voice and you could hear him like he was right next to you. Then, we he started walking towards us, his voice was getting softer and softer.
This is the longest escalator that I had ever seen. I was amazed! It just kept going and going...
After we left the Capital, we decided to take the metro over to Dupont Circle. This is a really nice area of Washington with lots of places to eat and shop. When we were on the metro, Daniel was listening to another couples conversation. The girl had mentioned that she knew a really good place to eat. So Daniel and I decided to follow them to see where they were going. I have to admit that it was really fun being sneaky and following them...haha. They ended up going into a place called 5 Guys. It was a burger and fries place and so we thought we would give it a try. I'm glad we did because it was really good. I noticed that they had newspaper articles and awards all over the place for the top place to eat a hamburger in Washington D.C. for several years in row. After we finished eating, we just walked around the area. I love the houses here...I thought they were so cute and EXPENSIVE. One of the houses was renting out the basement and asking $2500 a month. That is so crazy.

After we got home, we got stuck into a movie that was on TV called The Sentinel. Then, we called it quits and went to bed.
