Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

New Years in Oklahoma

Daniel and I didn't have any plans for New Years and so we decided to go visit his parents up in Oklahoma. We had so much fun because we spent an entire day looking at and walking through huge houses. Daniel's parents plan on building a house in Texas after they retire on some land that they own and so they like to get some ideas from other people's houses. It was so funny listening to his dad tell us how he is going to be building a rock climbing wall on the back of the house, a repelling station and a zip line into the pool. I told him that if he makes his house that fun, no one is going to ever want to leave. He told me that was his plan!

We also got to go floor shopping with them too. I think Daniel got kinda bored but I love this kind of stuff. Later that day we went to go see Sherlock Holmes. I was not a big fan of that movie at all. It was just okay to me.

We also played lots of board games with his parents which I love. Mexican Train is one of my favorites but you have to have more than two people play and so Daniel and I can't play that with just the two of us at the house. We also introduced them to Ticket to Ride which they loved. Another great game.

We didn't get to stay but for a few days because Daniel had to be back at church the next day to teach a lesson. But we had lots of fun!
