Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Stuck in Reno

We are still in Nevada and will probably be here until next Saturday unless the birth mother in Michigan goes into labor before then. If that happens, I will leave for Michigan and Daniel will stay in Nevada with Carter since he is not allowed to cross state lines till all the paperwork is completed. We thought that we would be able to leave today but it looks like Nevada changed their adoption laws and no one knew about it until a few days ago. Anyways, Daniel and I are quite bored here because there isn't much to do in Reno unless you gamble. Fortunately, this past week wasn't too bad because Daniel's aunt and cousin were in town for a volleyball tournament but I have a feeling this next week will be even more boring. Lake Tahoe is really pretty but the nice area is in California and we aren't allowed to leave Nevada. Since we didn't know that we would be staying for two and a half weeks, we didn't bring much in the way of clothes and we've already had to do laundry three times already. Michigan will be much better for us because we will have a good size hotel room with a full kitchen, separate living room and free washer and dryer on site. By the time we get back home, we will have been gone for about a month. I miss our home so much and I can not wait to get back with my babies!!!

Carter is doing well and here are some more pictures that many of you have requested.
