Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Kauai - Part 3

Monday:
We went ziplining and it was so fun. This was my first time and was definitely an adrenaline rush. The zipline company we went with had 9 different lines and the last one was 1,200 feet. The last zipline was also a double line so Daniel and I got to go together and race. Oh and I won!!! There was also a swimming hole with a waterfall but I was too much of a wimp to get in it because it was raining and I didn't want to be freezing the rest of the time. Daniel cannonballed in of course.

My dad ziplining.

There goes my mom.

We spent the rest of the day in Princeville hanging out, shopping and eating shaved ice.

A beautiful picture of the sunset that Daniel took.

Tuesday:
My parents flew to the Big Island (Daniel and I went to the Big Island in 2007) and so Daniel and I got another day to ourselves. Of course the first thing we did was go eat at Puka Dog again! Then, we drove over the the west side of the island and watched some surfers. The waves were really big that day and there were a lot of people in the ocean.

We went and got some shaved ice (probably the best we've had) and drove all the way to the end of the road.

This road definitely floods when it rains.

Wednesday:
We woke up to the fire alarm going off and on for about an hour. Firetrucks and police cars even showed up.

We were leaving that night and so we took it easy the rest of the day. We went to several beaches because they were closed. There was a big storm coming in and the waves were HUGE! It was beautiful and we loved the watching the waves crash. We even got my parents to climb up to the top of a cliff.

Kauai was just breathtaking! Now that Daniel and I have been to Kauai and the Big Island, we really want to go to Maui and Oahu. It will probably been a while before we go because we want to take our children with us and they need to be old enough to enjoy it. Speaking of kids, we sure missed our boys. Daniel's mom would send me pictures all the time and updates which helped a ton.
