Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Nursery Update

This past weekend was super busy but also very productive and fun. On Friday morning, we got to hang out with Emily and Molly. The boys had a great time playing with their cousin and Molly had a great time playing with the boys and all their toys.

Later that night, my brother and his friend came into town. We went up to Home Depot to buy all the materials for a chair rail for the nursery. My brother also fixed my dryer and installed locks on our double doors that go into our sitting room.

On Saturday, we went to work on the chair rail. I didn't do too much because I had to watch my boys but I helped paint the railing. We also installed some molding around the window and I love it. The next step is to paint either the lower half or top half a lighter green. That will be a few months away because the boys will have to sleep in a different room for a while due to the paint smell. I do realize that the boys may not be in this room for very much longer but I am planning on leaving the green in here anyway because it's my favorite color and green can be used for a girl too!

On Sunday, I went and picked up Daniel from the airport. It was great to see him but he was exhausted. I'll have get him to write up a post from his trip.
