Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Midland

Daniel had to go to Midland, TX for work and so I decided to join him on his trip. Daniel's sister, Laura, and her family live there and so we were able to stay with them. They just moved into a new house and I had been dying to see it. Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I LOVE houses. I love walking through houses being built, walking through model homes and I love to decorate. And of course I wanted to see Laura and her family just as much!

Midland is about 5 hours from our house and there isn't much between our house and theirs. While driving up, we thought we would stop in Abilene to get some food and give the boys a break from their car seats. Well there isn't much food off the highway and so we drove to the next town over and all they had was a Denny's attached to a gas station. It was all smoking (yuck!) and the service was super slow. Luckily, the boys pretty much slept after we left all the way to Laura's house.

Daniel had his meeting the next morning while I stayed with the boys. The weather was great and we had a great time hanging out with Laura and her family. Oh and she has 5 kids plus my 2 so it was a loud house! Her house is beautiful and I loved it! Here are some of my favorite pictures of the weekend (actually this is the last day we were there and finally remember to get out the camera).

Daniel helping Ian with some origami projects.

Talon with a book...not a surprise at all!

Ian with Talon. It looks like they are having a very serious talk.

Tara and Carter

Eric playing on the swing set with his mom.

Carter

Carter LOVED Amy. I don't know how many times he hugged her. It was so sweet! Carter's birth mom really wants Carter to have a little sister. Now I know why...he is so sweet with girls!

Talon with chalk all over his face. He thought it tasted good;)

I'm not sure why she is covering his ears. Maybe Krya is screaming in the background.

I LOVE this picture:)

They slept almost the entire way home! I think they were exhausted from all the fun they had playing with their cousins!
