Wow I can't believe it's been almost a week since my last update. This past week has been really busy for me. I spent the week cleaning up our guest bedroom because my parents came into town and that room always ends up turning into our junk room. I've stored both highchairs in there (we moved the boys into booster seats) and I have a whole bunch of stuff that I'm giving away to goodwill.
My parents arrived on Thursday night and we were all starving so we headed over to the Olive Garden. I love their salad and bread sticks....yum! Daniel had work the next day so while he was gone, I took my parents up to Justin to look at some boots. They had decided that it was time to own some cowboy boots. While they were shopping and trying on boots, Carter and Talon were having so much fun just pushing around their stroller. I brought the single strollers so they each had their own. After my parents each found a pair of boots, we headed home and I put them down for a nap. I guess they wore themselves out at the store because they ended up sleeping a good 4 hours!
After Daniel got home from work, we headed over to Grapevine Mills mall to do a little more shopping. Daniel got a new suit, dress shirt and tie from Perry Ellis (he looks really GOOD in it) and I did a little shopping at Bath and Body Works. We also picked up some hats for the boys (these actually fit!) and some sandals type shoes for Talon. Carter wears extra wide shoes and so far the only brands that I have found that fit him are Stride Rite and New Balance. Along with extra wide also comes a big price tag. His shoes are usually around $50-$60 and that is a LOT for a little kid! So trying to find sandals to fit his feet isn't going to be easy.
Anyways, after we got done shopping, we headed over to a restaurant to eat. We gave Talon a cup with a straw and he ended up squeezing it too hard and cracked the cup spilling water all over himself.
On Saturday we just took it easy in the morning because we were getting family pictures done later that day. I decided we needed to update our pictures on our adoption profile since our boys are a lot older now and I need to update some pictures in our house. I posted one picture at the top and I'll post more when we get all the digital images. My friend does hair so I went over to her house so she could work her magic. She also cuts and highlights my hair so it is really nice that I have a friend that can do hair. She even has a little salon in her house. After I got home, I found out that Carter never took a nap. He apparently just chilled in his crib and was talking up a storm. Never a good thing when you have pictures in a few hours!
We had our pictures done at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth. Carter was not having it towards the end when it was time for the family pictures but I think our photographer, Reina, still ended up getting some good pictures. We finally got him in a good mood and laughing when Reina started throwing leaves in the air. After we got done with pictures, we headed over to KFC to eat. Talon was in a highchair and grabbed a packet of honey mustard and squeezed it. It went everywhere! It was actually quite funny and we all had a good laugh! Thank goodness this happened AFTER pictures. I have to say that even with Talon making messes, they are so much easier to take out to eat because they can feed themselves, we can order off of the kid's menu and they behave quite well.
My parents ended up leaving on Sunday morning before we left. My good friend, Jeannie, invited us to her daughter's baby blessing so we headed over to Plano on Sunday morning. After the blessing, we went over to her husband's parent's house to visit and eat some food. It's always good catching up with friends! When I showed Carter baby Paige, his response was, "Oh, wow!" I guess he thought she was pretty special!
Here is a picture of me with baby Paige!
