Our neighborhood had a big Easter party. They had games, crafts, snacks and of course an Easter egg hunt.

They put out over 1500 eggs.

Carter figured out right away what to do. He collected so many eggs I had to start putting them in my diaper bag because he ran out of room in his basket.

Talon decided that he needed to break apart every egg before putting it in his basket.

We had to get a picture with the Easter bunny! Talon wasn't too happy but at least he sat on her lap.

Carter was terrified of the Easter bunny so I decided to just hold him during the picture. He was clinging to me for dear life!
The weekend didn't start out so good. On Friday evening we headed over to a friends house who was having a birthday party. Carter and Talon were playing up a storm and then all of a sudden Talon just wanted to sit on my lap. I gave him a kiss on his forehead and noticed that he was burning up and he was on the verge of tears if anyone even tried to look at him that he didn't know well. So we decided that we better head home. When we got home we checked their temperatures and both boys had a fever. Carter's temp was about 101 and Talon's was about 103-104. We gave them both some medicine and tried to see if they wanted to eat anything before we put them down. Carter ate a little bit but Talon didn't touch his food which is really unlike him (Talon eats all the time and I swear he eats more than I do).
About two hours later Carter woke up crying and then Talon woke up too. This time Talon didn't have much of a fever but Carter did. After about half an hour, they were ready to go back to sleep. I went to bed but Daniel was planning on staying up to read his book. Around 3:30 Daniel came in and said he fell asleep on the couch but that Talon had thrown up. He cleaned up Talon and I cleaned up their room. I got lucky because he managed to keep most of it on his sheets but he did get it on his crib, the floor, his duck, Max, and the wall. It took me over an hour to get every thing cleaned up and sanitized. Around 5am they were more than ready to go back to bed and so were we! We didn't end up waking up until 11am!!! I honestly can't remember sleeping in that late in a LONG time. The crazy thing was that both boys were still asleep when we woke up.
We didn't leave the house at all on Saturday other than Daniel running to the store to grab some more medicine. Talon's fever kept spiking to 104 but with medicine, a warm bath and a cold washrag, we were able to keep it under control most of the day. Neither one had hardly anything to eat all day too. Carter had trouble getting to sleep at night but finally managed to get into a deep sleep around midnight. He needed lots of hugs from us because he just wasn't feeling good at all.
This morning when we got them up we could just tell that they were both feeling much better. Mainly because they were actually hungry for breakfast! Yay! Carter's fever was gone and Talon still had a little one but at least they had their appetite back some. That is always a good sign. Before we took them to the neighborhood party, we decided to give them some prunes. Neither one had had a BM and we knew they would feel even better if they got one.
After we got back from the party, we laid them down for a nap. After only a short time of being in their room, Talon started to cry. Daniel went in there and yelled for me. Talon had finally had a BM but it was diarrhea and it was everywhere. He turned and looked at me after he almost gagged from the smell and I told him, "do what your mom did to you when you were a baby." So he took Talon outside, took off his diaper and hosed him down! He LOVED it and was laughing and really enjoyed it. I got Carter up and noticed he had also had a BM and so we cleaned him up and then gave them a much needed bath. Prunes sure work wonders for our boys!
They are feeling much better and neither have a fever anymore. I'll be glad to have my happy boys back this week!
