Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Making the Switch

I've decided to make the switch to cloth diapers. There are probably a lot of you who think I'm crazy but cloth diapers are nothing like they used to be back in the olden days. There are so many different brands and types out there and not to mention they are super cute. Not only is it a LOT better for the environment but it is also a lot cheaper. It is estimated that it takes anywhere from 250 to 500 years for a disposable diaper to decompose. With two boys in diapers, we use a lot of diapers in this household! With cloth diapers, we can use them for our next child or two which will end up saving us a ton of money. The average cost for disposable diapers per kid is $1500. I could think of a lot more interesting things to buy with that money than disposable diapers! This is all my idea, Daniel doesn't want any part of this... haha (;
 This is my cloth diaper stash right now (I have one that is backordered). Most of these are just the wraps which you just put an insert in. When you change their diaper, you take out the insert and put a new one in. Also, most of mine are one size (newborn - 35+ lbs) and you just adjust the buttons to get the right fit. If and when we end up adopting a girl, I'll have to buy some girl colors and patterns but most of what I got I can use for a girl too.

 Aren't those some cute bottoms?!?!
 I'm sexy and I know it (:

Update: I've been using these for over a week now and I'm loving it!
