Welcome
We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.
When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

All I want for Christmas...
I hope you do rush orders and last minutes changes. I've changed my mind. All I want for Christmas is to not throw up or feel nauseous or have a fever anymore. It all started on Wednesday as we were traveling to Laura's parent's house to spend Christmas. I felt nauseous and thought that maybe something I ate didn't agree with me. A couple barf buckets later and a few temperature readings, I determined it probably wasn't so simple.
Today, everyone went to Laura's brother's house to see how he was doing. Since he just finished a round of chemotherapy, I informed Laura that I wasn't going to go with them because I didn't want to risk getting him sick. I was sad because I always look forward to seeing my nieces and nephews.
Normally, spending the day by myself wouldn't be so bad because Laura's parents have a nice house and lots of fun electronics and things to keep me busy. I figured that I would just watch the last Harry Potter movie on blu-ray. Harry Potter movies are pretty long so that would eat up a big chunk of time. I started the movie and got nice and cozy when about 5 minutes into it, BAM!!! The power went out...and didn't come back on the rest of the day.
Spending a day at your own house without electricity is bad enough, but spending the day, all by yourself, at someone else's house really stinks. An Outside magazine is nice reading, but it only lasts so long...
All I have to say is thank heavens for early Christmas gifts. I sure was grateful for our new little netbook's 7 hours of battery life. Although I played enough games of Spider Solitaire to last me quite a while. Here's hoping that tomorrow's a better day.
