Day 1
This year we went on a 7 day cruise to the Western Caribbean and had a blast.
First we started out EARLY Saturday morning with a 6am flight to Miami. We got it around 9:30am and went to meet our other cruising couple, Arie and Jenn. I met Jenn at Texas A&M when I was going to school there. Jenn and I went on a our first cruise together back in 2003. So this was my 4th cruise and Daniel's 2nd cruise.
They met us at the rental car place so that they could drop off their car (since they flew in a few days earlier than us) and then we were all going to take a shuttle over to the port. Well that would of cost of around $15 a person and so instead Arie dropped us off at the port and then went back to the car rental to drop off the car and catch a shuttle back to the port.
While Jenn waited for Arie to get back, Daniel and I decided to go ahead and get in line. The line to get on the ship wasn't too bad at all. It probably took us around 30 minutes or so to go through security and get our sea pass cards. When we first got on, we were STARVING. We had been up since 3am and had no food in our stomachs and now it was around 12. They were serving lunch at the Windjammer and so we headed there. The Windjammer is a buffet style restaurant where you can eat for free of course.
After we got some food in our stomachs, we decided to head to our room to take a nap. After our nap and the emergency drill, we got together with Jen and Arie to go roam the ship. Jenn decided she wanted to go explore every inch of the ship. That took a while since the ship is huge! But we had a great time looking at all the fun things to do on the ship and getting excited for the up coming week. I wasn't feeling very well the first day but Daniel, Jenn and Arie all decided to go rock climbing.

Later that night, we got all dressed up and headed to dinner. We were seated on level 3 of the dining room and with four other women aging from their late 20's to mid aged 50's. They were all very nice and we had a great time with them. While at dinner, we noticed the table next to us. There were two guys sitting with several women who didn't speak English. They looked so uncomfortable that it was really funny to watch them (the next night they were sitting at a different table....guess it was too uncomfortable for them to handle). After dinner, we went to see a show with dancing and a comedian. The dancing was incredible. It was kinda like a magic show mixed in with the dancing. The guy dancer would put a sheet over her and seconds later she was wearing a new outfit. I don't know how they did it.
Day 2
Our second day was at sea so we spent the day relaxing. Jenn and I decided to lay out and get some sun. It was so difficult finding some empty chairs. People like to save their chairs by putting their stuff on them even though you aren't suppose to be allowed to save chairs. We finally found two empty chair and took them. After we were done laying out, we went to go watch the Guy Sexy Leg Contest. You had ages from 5- 80 participating in the contest. It was quite funny. One guy who was quite a bit older had lots of experience on a cruise ship. They announced that this was his 170th cruise and his 49th time on Liberty (which has only set sail a total of 99 times total).
Afterwards, we headed over to the basketball court to watch the boys participate in a dodgeball game and then the boys headed over to the flowrider. (pictures to come....Jenn took them with her camera).
Later that evening, we went to an ice skating show which I loved. They ice skated to lots of different broadway songs. Then we had a lovely dinner and then headed to another show called Ever After Musical. That was a kind of weird production but it was still good.
Day 3
We spent the early afternoon just relaxing on the boat and doing some fun activities. At 3pm, we arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We had really wanted to do kayaking at night but it wasn't offered and we didn't want to pay all the outrageous cost of tours so we picked up a map to do our own exploring. We decided to head up to an old fort. On the map, the fort look like a long walk but it didn't take us long at all to get there. The fort was right on the water and so it was beautiful.

After we left the fort, we sat down and ate some lunch (we ordered room service on the boat and then just put it in our bags). We decided to just walk around San Juan a little. There were cats everywhere! I love cats and so of course I had to stop and pet all the ones that let me pet them. It started to get dark and so we decided to go walk around San Juan a little. We were walking down the street and all of a sudden Jenn decided to jump out from behind a wall and scare me. Daniel was walking a little behind me and when Jenn jumped out Daniel's fist came flying towards Jenn's head but stopped midpoint when he realized who it was. She got lucky.

These are the lovely (and almost always drunk) ladies that sat at our table and our waiters.
Later that evening we were walking down the street of the shops and Arie saw a jewelry store with watches. He had been wanting a new watch for a while. So we all decided to go into the store except we didn't realize that Jenn wasn't with us. Apparently Jenn kept walking and didn't realize that we weren't behind her anymore. She freaked out and turned around to try to find us. It took her a while but she finally did. She came to the conclusion that it was payback for her trying to scare me earlier.

Arie ended up finding a watch that he really liked and it was half the price of the tag. Since Arie ended up buying a new watch, Daniel decided that he wanted one too. So they both got new watches. We did a little more looking around at the different shops and then decided to go ahead and get back on the boat.

More to come...I promise!
