Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Wedding Weekend

Last year my friend, Sophia, that I've known since junior high got engaged and asked me to be a bridesmaid. I've known her for 16 years and I've known her now husband for probably around 13 years. We grew up on the same street and her husband was in several classes of mine in high school.

Daniel took off of work on Friday and so we got up super early and headed down to Houston. The boys needed a break so we stopped by A&M campus. Daniel and I met here and we both love the University. We bought the boys some really cute pants and jacket set (for next winter), I got a cute jersey shirt and Daniel got a hat.
After we got back into the car, Talon was out of it. He put the blanket on his head and fell asleep like this. When we got to my parents house, we hung out with them for a few hours and then headed to Round Top where the wedding was going to take place (the boys stayed with my parents).
My friend was really big into shabby chic decor so this was our room. I should have taken a picture of the house we were staying in but I forgot. It was super cute!
All set up for the reception dinner. On Friday night, we all helped her get everything all set up and decorated. Daniel loves to take charge and so he really helped out a ton. I got a lot of compliments on how great of a husband I have (I just said "I know!").
We worked for hours on this on Friday night and then on Saturday for most of the day.

This is where they got married. So pretty!

 Daniel and me:)
 The beautiful bride and me!
These kids mean the world to me! I was their nanny years ago when they were 4 and 9 (they are now 12 and 17). I took Kelly to her first day of kindergarten and I have such great memories of them. Yes at that time they were both shorter than me and now they are towering over me. Funny story - I was sitting next to Kelly at dinner and Daniel was trying to figure out who this little girl was that was so attached to me. He finally leaned over and asked. He didn't recognize her at all because she had changed so much since the last time he saw her which was at my baby shower in Houston.
This is my friend Jackie. We went to junior high, high school and college together. We lost touch with each other and we hadn't seen each other in about 9 years. It was so fun to catch up with her and it was as if nothing had changed with us. I also found out she lives right by my parents so hopefully we can hang out again soon and keep in better touch now.
On Sunday morning, we headed down to Katy to hang out with my brother and his family. I love that Carter and Talon have a cousin so close to their age.

On our way back to Fort Worth, both boys passed out for about two hours. When they woke up, they needed some time out of the car so we found a big open field and let them run around.

We wore Talon out and he was ready to get back in the car. I had such a fun weekend and always love catching up with old friends!
