Welcome

We set up our adoption blog so you can get to know our family a little better. I started blogging back in 2007 and have kept up with it over the years. At the end of every year, we print off our blog for that year and give it to Daniel's mom for her Christmas present. She keeps all of her children's yearly journals in a notebook that we will get back one day to pass down to our kids. I try to keep it up to date as much as I can.

When we decided to start the adoption process, I decided to make an identical blog for birth mothers to read. Everything that I write about my family on our personal blog, I copy it over to my adoption blog. I understand that an adoption profile only gives limited information about us and we want you to have the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we like to do as a family. Our adoption blog will show you who we were even before we adopted our boys. Feel free to read as much as you want or click on the links up above!

Carter

Well I managed to get a few pictures of Carter that weren't blurry (:
My boy LOVES blankets or anything soft. If he is sitting on the couch with me, he loves to snuggle up with a blanket.

Carter is always climbing up on the computer desk and messing with the keyboard and mouse.
So I got out our old keyboard out and let him play!

Typing away!

The other night, I decided to head over to the YMCA for the first time. The boys had only taken an hour nap and Daniel was going to be working late that night. I knew that if I didn't go, I would have regretted it because Carter and Talon would have been very grumpy come evening time. I was really nervous about dropping off my boys for the first time because this was all new to them and I didn't want them to be scared. I walked into the childcare area and Carter immediately attached himself to my leg while Talon was perfectly fine. Luckily I knew one of the ladies working that night so she came and picked him up. He started crying right away and gave me the saddest face. He kept trying to reach for me and it took everything I had to walk out of the room.

I went and attended the Body Pump class (a challenging choreographed weight training class utilizing barbells is targeted to strengthen and tone all major muscle groups) and it was not easy. I'm not exactly the biggest person and the only place I have a decent amount of muscle is my biceps from carrying and picking up my boys all the time. I did have a good time and it was a nice break in my day. I'm planning on going back to this class next week and I'll be bringing Daniel with me!

After my class was over, I headed over to get my boys. Talon came right to me while Carter saw me and tried to run back into the play area. He didn't want to leave!!! They told me that he settled right down and apparently he had a GREAT time!

It's now two days post class and I hurt so BAD! I was planning on going back this week but I know I would just embarrass myself since any type of movement hurts right now.
